What is the Advocare 24 Day Jumpstart?

Ok, so we can trust Advocare and their products, but what is the Jumpstart? The 24 Day Jumpstart (formerly called the 24 Day Challenge) is an easy and straightforward way to springboard healthy habits and help you reach your goal. The 24 day program focuses on fundamentals such as a healthy and balanced diet, supplementation (to fill in any nutritional gaps), stress and sleep management, and physical activity/exercise.

Advocare’s 24 Day Jumpstart is divided into two main phases: the Cleanse Phase and the Max Phase.

Cleanse Phase

The cleanse phase lasts for the first 10 days of the challenge. During these 10 days, you are pushing “reset” and eliminating anything that may prevent your body from properly absorbing nutrition. The cleanse is gentle, but effective, and will not have you sprinting for the nearest restroom.

Don’t worry – no crazy fads here! You will continue to eat balanced, healthy meals and should never feel like you are still hungry or deprived.

These 10 days will focus on fiber, probiotics, and eating plenty of protein, fruits, and veggies.

Max Phase

Days 11-24 are known as the Max Phase. These two weeks will build upon the healthy habits you’ve set in the Cleanse phase and help take your healthy lifestyle to the next level.

Complete this phase by continuing to eat nutritious meals (and snacks) and additional supplementation. You may also choose to include one of Advocare’s delicious meal replacement shakes. These shakes are loaded with protein and nutrients and make for a convenient way to eat healthy on the go.

We’ve covered a little bit more about the program and what products it includes, so now let’s get to those hints to maximize your Advocare 24 Day Jumpstart results! I’ve done this program several times since 2015 and have helped multiple people successfully complete theirs as well. These tips are things I’ve learned first-hand (sometimes the hard way) over the years.

9 tips for Advocare 24 day challenge results

Pick a start date.

There’s never going to be a “perfect” time on your calendar to get started. The best way to start your healthy lifestyle is to just pick a date, and do it! Don’t wait for the New Year…the sooner the better!

Plan ahead.

That being said, if you have a trip or special event planned, it may be best to schedule your 24 Day Jumpstart around those things to get the best results.

It’s also helpful to spend some time planning your meals. It is so much harder to cook healthy and clean meals on the fly, especially when this lifestyle is new to you. The extra time spent here will be well worth it. For tips on how to easily plan a month of meals, check out this post.

Change your mindset.

Some of the best advice I’ve received is to remember that healthy habits are a lifestyle, not a diet. Don’t think of these changes as a life sentence of deprivation; think of them as changes that will help you live a full and healthy life.

Also, a healthy lifestyle still allows you some indulgences: everything in moderation and following the 80/20 rule.

7 Secrets to a Healthy Lifestyle – Without Sacrificing Hours of Time

Here are the 7 secrets you need to maintain a healthy lifestyle without spending hours of time each week in the gym. These secrets are perfect for moms who are looking for small things to do every day that can make a BIG difference!

Pick your fiber.

You will have a choice of either Citrus, Peaches and Cream, or Unflavored fiber. Citrus has the most abrasive texture…similar to chia seeds…and is personally not what I recommend for your first Jumpstart. Unflavored is more mild and can be mixed easily into water or other beverage.

My favorite is Peaches and Cream. The texture is smooth which makes it easy to swallow and the taste is mild and sweet.

Pro tip: Drink your fiber immediately after mixing. Don’t let your fiber sit because it will thicken quickly.

Don’t compare.

Your results won’t be exactly the same others. Factors such as starting weight and health habits can be a huge factor in the numbers you see reported in the Jumpstart. I once had a friend who lost significantly more weight and inches than I did in the Cleanse phase. But, she also started at a heavier weight and had more to “clean out” in her gut.

You do you. Don’t worry about anyone else. Cheer each other on!

Make a little extra for leftovers.

Yessss for leftovers! I typically make larger batches of food at dinner so that I can take leftovers for lunch the next day (and maybe even the next day). It saves so much time on meal prepping and is one less thing I need to plan for each day.

You can also cook your protein and veggies in batches and use them for different recipes throughout the week.

Roast your veggies.

I had to learn to like most vegetables. Well, actually I’m still learning. Roasting has become one of my favorite way to cook vegetables! Simply spread your veggies on a baking sheet, lightly cover in olive oil and spices (salt and pepper and/or garlic powder are my faves), and bake at 425° for about 20 minutes.

Roast until the vegetables are tender enough to pierce with a fork and you see some charred bits on the edges. Softer vegetables cook more quickly, while harder vegetables like potatoes will cook more slowly. Smaller pieces will also cook more quickly than larger pieces. If you’re roasting a new-to-you vegetable, start checking after about 15 minutes, and keep roasting until you see charred bits.

Drink lots of water.

Water, water, water. Almost all of us need to be drinking more water.

As a quick rule of thumb, you need to be drinking about half your body weight in ounces. For example, if you weigh 160 lbs, your minimum daily water intake should be 80oz.

Water will help maximize your Advocare 24 Day Jumpstart results by keeping you hydrated, “flushed out,” aiding in regularity, and supporting brain function and level energy levels.

Chart your cravings.

As you continue through the 24 Day Jumpstart program (and beyond!) you may notice that your cravings change. You may have a nice cold piece of fruit on the brain instead of a candy bar. Sounds weird, I know, but it does happen!

I find it super motivating to keep track of what I crave and when, and then to see how that changes over time. Also, I’ve found that if I can ignore my cravings for a few hours, they usually go away. Magic! Cravings are usually short-term desires to satisfy my sweet tooth or from some not-so-great habits I’ve formed (ahem a few Skittles and TV while my kids nap, haha).

My 24 Day Jumpstart Results

Like I said earlier, I’ve completed the 24 Day Jumpstart program several times over the past 6 years. Every time I do, I feel more energized, less bloated, and quickly start to crave healthier snack options.

The first place I start to see results from the 24 Day Jumpstart (formerly called the 24 Day Challenge) is in my face. I naturally have a little bit of a rounded face shape, but I love how fueling my body properly and building lean muscle brings out definition around my chin and cheeks.

The last time I completed this challenge, I lost 3 lbs in my first three days and several inches from around my tummy. The best thing about this program is that I know I can trust the products and that I’m fueling my body with good, clean food! No fads or shortcuts here, so the results can last.

Bonus Tips: Completing a Challenge While Traveling

1) Drink water. Whenever I travel, I tend to forget to drink as much as I usually do and my body pays the price. Pack a reusable water bottle to fill up during the day and avoid those over-priced single-use bottles. Plus, ordering water at restaurants will save some money and calories.

2) Pack healthy snacks & breakfasts. By having a few quick-grab items, you’ll be less likely to splurge on the convenience (aka sugar-filled and processed) items. I hear ya, those hotel breakfasts can be pretty great, but maybe sample a few things and grab a piece of fruit for later.

3) Balance your meals. Depending on where you eat, your healthy choices may be a little more limited. Try ordering fruits or veggies as your sides instead of fries (the horror, I know). You can also be a little more mindful during the day and let one meal a day be your reward.

4) Relax. Hopefully you’re on vacation to rest (not always possible if you’re traveling with kids, haha). Relaxation is good for your body and your mind. Try building in some downtime so that you don’t run yourself ragged with all of the fun.

5) Continue vitamin/supplement regimen. This is a super easy way to stay in your routine while traveling, especially because some of us get the “travel tummies” and can become uncomfortable. Whatever you would normally take during the day at home, bring it with you. If you want to save on space, portion out what you need for your trip into little baggies for each day.
